My flight to Victoria was almost complete, when I started hearing alarms go off in the cockpit. "Terrain! Terrain! Pull up!" Over and over. I thought, I'd come too far to have the plane go down now. I looked out the window and there was no terrain in sight, though it was rather dark. The pilot pulled up and came around to do a "safer" landing with no alarms.
On the ground, I entered the terminal I had left so many months before, full of anxiety and excitement. It was quite sureal, being back after so long mixed with the fact that I had been awake for over forty hours. Dad greeted me at the airport, we visited Mom at the casino, and then headed for home. Georgina was unfortunately stuck in Vancouver because her British Airways flight was a couple hours late and so she missed the last ferry. They put her up in a Best Western and she caught the ferry over the next morning. Welcome home.
