Back in Milan, although we were a couple hours late, we managed to return the rental car with no extra charge. Just pretend to be confused and friendly...works every time. We hopped a bus to town and found a Albergo to stay in for the night. Then we hit a nearby Pastarito/Pizzarito for one last Italian dinner and retired for the evening.
In the morning, Georgina woke to find that her head cold had turned into an all out stomach virus. She had intended to sleep at the airport that night but I went to find her a suitable hotel room for the night instead. Her condition didn't seem to improve much in the hours leading up to my departure but she assured me that she would be better by the morning and be flying to Canada with me as scheduled. I hated to leave her like that, but I had to believe what she told me and hope that she would get well and that things would work themselves out like they've done so well in the past. Now, I can only wait to greet her here at Heathrow Airport in about six hours.
