Author	Topic: 12/02/02 - Can I Get a Freakin' Bagel Here?

I haven't been in a country with a decent supply of bagels since Poland I think. And even if you search high and low in Italy and Spain, you can't find one measly round lump of dough with a hole in the center. I'm going through serious withdrawal. Yesterday I hit the Prado Museum (they were bagelless as well). It was jammed full of people due to free day. Impressive collection of 17th and 18th century painting and sculpture. Amidst my touring of the galleries, I ran into a couple of old friends from Echo Lake from a couple summers ago. Caitlin and Clayton just happened to be touring the same museum in Madrid at the same time as me. Incredibly small world. They've been living in London for a while and are just now travelling around for a bit. After the museum I went to the "largest flea market in the world". And it was pretty darn big, spanning about a six city block by twelve city block grid. Then I headed over to the archaelogical museum which was unfortunately closed (my guide was actually right about this museum). I'm currently awaiting my flight to Barcelona which leaves in about an hour. It's become cheaper to fly around Spain and France than it is to take the bus or train.
